Minutes
Susan brought the meeting to order at 1:12. Kristi moved to approve the minutes, the motion was seconded and the minutes were unanimously approved.
Announcements
Advising 102
Though attendance was low those who did participate were engaged.
Advisenet
- Katie Tool will now be the Advisenet/AAC liaison
- Tina Miller to Chair Advisenet next year
- Meetings will be on Fridays next year, more information to come
- Huge kudos to Katie for her hard work in bringing in worth-while guests while chairing the committee
Items of Business
Customer Relations Software Presentation by Jim Maraviglia
- Will allow advisors to more effectively and consistently communicate with students especially those who are falling short academically
- Knowledge based software allows for better on-line direction for students (virtual advising, etc)
- Prospect of interfacing with Facebook and other social networking sites
- Predictive modeling
- May be geared toward specific need throughout a student’s college career
Jim will be emailing the AAC examples of current uses for the software. Susan will follow-up with having a guest from another campus who uses the software for retention of “at-risk” students.
