Kris McKinlay brought the meeting to order at 2:10. Two corrections were made to the minutes: 1) Under Prerequisite Checking, third bullet from the end, remove “C2.” 2) Under Bonnie’s Report, second bullet, “discusses” should be “discussed.” Ellen moved to approve the amended minutes. Wendy seconded the motion. The minutes were unanimously approved.
Items of Business:
End of Year Report
- The Draft End of Year Report was distributed to AAC. Three additions were requested:
- Recognition in the first paragraph that all the members of AAC played an active role
- Purchase of advising booth
- Stronger language than “consulted with” to describe the process with the CMS team
Test Credit Detail
- AP test credit details will be available next week on PolyProfile.
- Helen presented a few examples of how the AP test credit appears now.
- AAC would like the language “upon completion of POLS 111” added to the label “GED1 1TR.”
- When a test gives students credit for a class as well as additional units, AAC would like the class listed first and the excess units second.
- AAC will send any additional information to Helen by Friday.
- Because of time limitations, all requests may not be met. AAC would rather have the test credit detail available earlier than wait and have it perfected.
- AP scores for students attending SOAR will be processed early, around July 10.
Budget
- Once AAC purchases a cart for the Lucy booth, there will be approximately $900 remaining.
- A Mustang Daily ad urging students to get their grad evals would have to be placed Friday.
- The suggestion was made to buy 300 binders from SOAR to give to students who didn’t attend SOAR or who are on academic probation. The binders could also be given to faculty advisors or transfer students, as each college deems best.
- Brad moved that AAC buy 300 binders, and Ellen seconded the motion. After some additional discussion about whether the binders would actually be used, the motion passed unanimously.
OAR Update
- The blended program flag for PolyProfile is difficult to code and so will not be delivered.
- OAR is working on the commencement bulletin this week and next. Becky Holt is the coordinator.
