Summary Notes February 9, 2006

1. Report on Lucy booths: There was some traffic Tuesday, and they were busy Wednesday.

2. PeopleSoft Report by Kimi Ikeda

  • PeopleSoft is organized by process, not by screen, so the way in which information is viewed will be different.
  • At the next Open Forum, a PeopleSoft environment will be available to view.
  • Update on SIS screens that will be available in PeopleSoft:
    • The screens that AAC asked for are similar to the screens that IDHC asked for.
    • The information available on the 100 series of screens is similar in SIS and PeopleSoft.
    • The information available on screens 207-210 will be available in PeopleSoft.
    • The information available on screen 105 will be available in PeopleSoft.
    • The student schedule from screen 109 will be available; the graphic student schedule on screen 112 is still uncertain.
    • The information available on screen 110 will be available in PeopleSoft.
    • The information available on screen 127 will not be a panel; it will be a query and report from the data warehouse.
    • It is uncertain whether PeopleSoft has the capability to do the Capture Audit Trail from screen 139. The information may be available as an after-the-fact report.
  • ELM and EPT are done by CSU.
  • MAPE is still being worked on.
  • They haven’t started on e-permits in PeopleSoft yet.
  • Kimi asked that AAC start thinking about reports they need and focus on reports, or aspects of the reports, that are used by more than one advising center.
  • The PeopleSoft team doesn’t yet know how to do priority registration or course repeats.
  • Students will still be able to plan their schedules on POWER, but the current version of PeopleSoft does not have the capability to build a schedule all at once. The next upgrade will have multiple class registration capability, so it has not yet been decided whether to try to fix the current version to include that capability or to wait for the upgrade.
  • Financial Aid information will not be available to advisors in PeopleSoft.
  • Students will be updated about the change in registration systems before they leave campus.
  • PeopleSoft will have greater self-service capabilities for students for activities such as checking transcripts.

3. Other Business

  • Mary reported that the Power homepage will have a link to the Summer Term web page during spring registration.
  • Tom Zuur reported that he received AAC’s follow-up memo and will meet with AAC when they ask for a meeting.
    • Two more evaluators will start in OAR next week.
    • Staff is working on ASSIST.
    • Tom requested additional input from AAC on topics such as four year out-of-state transfer students.
    • Tom will attend the next AAC meeting in 2 weeks.
