Faculty/Major Advisor
During their first quarter, students should contact their College Advising Center or department office for the name and office location of their faculty advisor. The faculty advisor may assist with academic and coursework-related questions, senior projects, internship opportunities, and career-planning goals. Majors in Business and Economics usually consult a faculty advisor only after they select a concentration in their junior or senior year.
Faculty advisors are usually assigned randomly. If students meet with their advisors and find that their interests are not the same or their personalities do not mesh, they should request a new advisor. It is important for students to meet with their faculty advisors on a regular basis, so they should find someone who they like and can work with.
